Here you will find three invaluable letters to send to illegal bailiffs who are trying to extort money from you.

They are Microsoft Word documents — simply fill in your details as shown, then send them to the bailiff company like so:

After their first letter to you, reply with:

01 - REQUEST FOR PROOF OF DEBT

After their second letter to you, reply with

02 - CONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE LETTER

After their third letter to you, reply with

03 - FINAL NOTICE - CEASE AND DESIST

If you are expecting bailiffs and are worried, read on.

Firstly, NEVER OPEN THE DOOR!

Always speak to them through an open window instead.

You can print out this A4 window sign and place it in your window where it will be most visible to the bailiffs. Remember to write your address on the provided line. This sign will not stop all bailiffs, as some are unaware of these legal notices, but it will stop some.

If any do turn up, point out the sign and ask them to leave.

Make sure you don't leave anything valuable outside your home, such as a car or motorcycle.
